I asked cowboy a couple of times to bring me some hay for the baby calf we're bottle feeding... but he kept forgetting.
So, when I spotted a pile in the road on my way home from work, I brought it home.
Like this...
At first, it was going pretty well...
But after I drove about 3 feet, it blew back and covered the entire windshield. (Photo taken from the driver's seat.)
I had to drive home with my head hanging out the window and hay blowing in my face. I wish I could tell you that this is the first time I have done this... but that would be a lie.
And this, my friends, is why cowboys drive pick-up trucks.

ReplyDeleteYep..that's why we drive pickups!!
ReplyDeleteOnce when bottle feeding a baby goat..she had to travel with us in the suburban 8 hrs. When we stopped to eat..she had a small body harness on her..people thought she was a weird little dog..lol
We have traveled with 3 goats in the back of the suburban and once a 6 month old deer..In Tx suburbans are the ladies version of a truck..lol
A girl has to do what she has to do!!

Been there done that! I have always drove a pu and when I first met my husband, we were driving late at nite and I spotted bales of hay in the field so I slammed on the brakes and jumped out, ran to the field and grabbed the bale and threw it in the truck and got back in. He just looked at me in HORROR! He pictured a farmer shooting at me with a gun! I told him he would have to catch me first! LOL
ReplyDeleteFunny! Aren't you glad you didn't have to worry about car traffic...just the deer and the antelope, and a cow or two.
ReplyDeleteFunny! Last fall, after trying to bring home several bales of hay in my Jaguar, I determined that I needed an SUV instead!
